Business Event, Board & Executive Meeting, Amsterdam

When we got in touch with a company all the way from Silicon Valley, California, we knew we had to make their long transatlantic journey to Amsterdam memorable…

The CEO of this company envisioned a productive week of board & executive meetings while simultaneously showing their team what the city of Amsterdam has to offer; providing team members and their partners who they brought along a week they will never forget.

With the sun shining, a slight breeze from the water, bikes flying by, lines at every shop packed with travelers coming from around the world… and it being the hottest week of the year, we had fun challenge ahead of us. So, we though what better location to get away from the heat and busy streets than to host this event and have our guests stay at the infamous Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam? Located in the heart of the city, overlooking the beautiful Herengracht canal and a private garden, equipped with an exquisite venue and service… we knew it would be a perfect venue.

When guests were not in meetings at the Waldorf Astoria, we made sure to fill their itinerary with memorable moments that would really give them the Amsterdam Experience. One of the highlights from this event was the private after hours tour at the iconic Rijksmuseum. When this museum first opened 200 some years ago, it wasn’t located in Amsterdam, it was actually located in Huis Ten Bosch in The Hague. Then in 1813, King Willem I relocated the museum and national print collection to a 17th-century city palace called Trippenhuis where he coined the name we know today, Rijksmuseum. Many years later, architect Pierre Cuypers was chosen to build this building you see pictured here after the Trippenhuis became unsuitable. In 1885, construction was complete, and the Netherlands now had a proud national museum building of its own! Guests got to enjoy the quiet serenity being here alone with time to admire the artwork up close, which is a treat considering how busy it normally is!

Guests attending the board and executive meetings were welcome to bring their partners on this trip, so while they were in meetings, we planned a variety of outings for them with a custom partner program! We made it accommodating to all by offering a variety of options which they were able to select from. This included a guided tour of the Van Gogh Museum, a relaxing day at the stunning GUERLAIN Spa, or more physical activities such as a city bike tour and city walking tour! This allowed all attendees to fill every minute of their time in the city with moments curated to them.

We had the pleasure of planning each evening’s dinner, so we chose a variety that we believed highlighted what this city has to offer. Naturally, one dinner took place during a canal tour, on what was actually that hottest day of the whole year. It was a walking dinner (think a standing buffet!) with a summer theme and in-season menu. Then, to bring in the city aspect, we hosted a dinner at The Loft in A’DAM Tower, which is decked out with floor-to-ceiling windows and overlooks the whole city. Finally, to bring in the art and history of our country, after their visit at the Rijksmuseum they went to Restaurant Rijks and enjoyed a luxurious Michelin star dinner.

This event was truly special and we are forever grateful to this client for thinking of us and allowing us the creativity to plan a diverse, curated, and luxurious week for them. This is a week we will never forget and we are looking forward to planning more business events similar to this one in the future!
